Our Social meetings are now held at the Lord Roberts Hotel, 64 Stanley St, East Sydney, in the main 1st floor dining room booked.
Information and tickets for the ASCC 21st Annual Dinner, on Friday 6th July are now available.
We have just held an Orientation Day, for the new and the rusty, to get some basic familiarity of how to get in / out of a dinghy without swimming, safely getting on and off boats, some sailing basics.. you get the idea. We will hold another one shortly, if there is adequate interest – please contact committee. Priority to members, places for interested non-members on an availability and first-in best-dressed basis.
Weather permitting, a group of us will descend on Balmoral Sailing School, and hire some catamarans and/or kayaks, and go for a play late in the morning on Sat 28th April. If you aren’t an experienced sailing person, you can always crew with someone who is. About midday, we will have a picnic on shore. If you don’t want to risk getting wet, come and join us at lunchtime.
Note also, that is the weather is good on other weekends, there is a decent chance that some member’s will be taking their boats out for an “unofficial” event, usually planned last minute, once forecasts are available. Easter (this weekend) is an obvious candidate.
For those with (tall) boats, note that the Spit Bridge will be closed for two weeks for maintenance from Monday 30 April to Sunday 13 May 2012, inclusive.
A reminder to the lax(!) that memberships for the 2011-2012 year were due for renewal on the 1st of September 2011, which you can still do here.
